In July 2005, we introduced CabinetCRUNCHER Cutlist Software.

CabinetCRUNCHER is a cutlist program based on Microsoft Excel that provides the flexibility to build a wide variety of custom cabinets based on a variety of construction techniques.  CabinetCRUNCHER is recognized by many professional cabinetmakers and woodworkers as a highly flexible and easy to use cutlist and project planning program.

Many of our cabinetmakers and woodworking clients expressed an interest for us to develop 3D design capability to compliment CabinetCRUNCHER’s cutlist and project planning capabilities.  Customers wanted a program that was easy to use, flexible and reasonably priced.   

After an extensive review of competing programs and potential solutions, we chose Google SketchUp as our 3D cabinet building modeling platform. We believe that by combining SketchUp’s robust 3D modeling with Microsoft’s powerful Excel spreadsheet capabilities, we would create a solution that provides the power, flexibility and ease of use that our customers expect.

SketchUp 3D Modeling Software

Google SketchUp is a powerful yet easy-to-learn 3D software tool that combines a simple, yet robust tool-set with an intelligent drawing system that streamlines and simplifies 3D design. Based on our experience, SketchUp is the ideal choice for producing 3D models for cabinetmaking and general woodworking projects.

Google SketchUp can be downloaded for FREE at www.sketchup.com. Once the software has been downloaded, we encourage you to get familiar with the software by viewing Google SketchUp’s training videos and self-paced tutorials that are available through their website.  The website also has links to their Help Center and User Group discussion board.

Once you understand the basic SketchUp concepts and tools, we are confident that you will discover that Google SketchUp is an excellent solution for creating models of your cabinets and woodworking projects.

CabinetVIEW

CabinetVIEW is a collection of hundreds of 3D models that were created using Google SketchUp software.  These models are designed to be easily adjusted and modified using basic SketchUp knowledge and skills. With a little practice, you will be able to quickly create 3D modeling for individual cabinets or multiple cabinet layouts in a room setting.

With CabinetVIEW, you can create 3D models that enable you to plan and build your project “virtually” before you begin construction. After you have finalized your design, CabinetCRUNCHER’s cutlist and project planning tools enable you to create detailed cutlists and lists of materials. CabinetCRUNCHER’s cutlist capability quickly calculates the exact size of each cabinet component, organizes your project based on your construction requirements, and calculates the quantity and cost of all your materials.
